Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about DataDack Cloud and how it works.

What is DataDack Cloud?

DataDack Cloud is an infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) platform. From a single console and API you can provision virtual machines, private networks (VPCs, subnets, static IPs), block storage, and machine images, manage access with IAM, and operate everything through a browser-based cloud shell.

How is billing calculated?

DataDack Cloud is billed on a consumption basis and funded by prepaid credits. Resources such as virtual machines, storage, static IPs, and bandwidth accrue charges based on the published price catalog and your actual usage, which are then deducted from your credit balance. You can review the full details in our Billing & Credits Terms.

Who issues my invoice, and whose GSTIN do I claim input credit against?

DataDack is your service provider, but invoicing and payment collection are presently carried out by our parent business, HRIDYANSH SAVINU ENTERPRISES (GSTIN 03GDFPM1564R1Z2), Zirakpur, Punjab. Tax invoices are issued in that entity's name and GSTIN, so record it as your supplier and claim input tax credit against 03GDFPM1564R1Z2. Enter your own GSTIN and legal name in the console under Account → Billing before a cycle closes — a GSTIN cannot be changed on an invoice once it has been filed in a GST return. DataDack is being established as a separate legal entity; when that completes, invoicing moves to DataDack's own entity and we will give at least 30 days' notice. Your prices, contract and SLA are unaffected.

What happens if my credit balance runs low?

When your balance is insufficient to cover accruing charges, we notify you and provide a grace period to top up. If the balance is not restored in time, running resources may be suspended and, ultimately, terminated — which can result in permanent loss of data. Keeping a sufficient balance ensures uninterrupted service.

Why do I have to submit ID proof before I get a public IP?

DataDack Cloud allocates public IP addresses from its own pool rather than reselling another provider's. Under CERT-In Direction No. 20(3)/2022, an Indian cloud, VPS or data-centre operator must maintain validated records of who hired the service, for what period and purpose, and which IP addresses were allotted to them — and must keep those records for five years. You can open an account and run virtual machines on private VPC networking without verifying; verification is triggered when you request a public IP, a static IP, a public load-balancer endpoint or outbound SMTP. Full details are on our Identity Verification & KYC page.

What uptime does DataDack Cloud commit to?

99.9% monthly uptime for each running virtual machine, 99.95% for block storage, VPC networking, static IPs and load balancers, and 99.5% for the console and public API. If we miss a commitment, you are entitled to a service credit of 10%, 30% or 100% of that resource's monthly charges depending on the size of the shortfall. Report downtime within 24 hours of noticing it, then claim within 30 days of the end of the billing month. See the Service Level Agreement for the full terms.

Who is responsible for securing my resources?

DataDack Cloud follows a shared responsibility model. We secure and operate the underlying infrastructure, hypervisor, and network isolation. You are responsible for the operating systems, applications, firewall and security-group rules, credentials, and data on your own resources. See our Acceptable Use Policy for the rules that apply to all workloads.

How does DataDack Cloud handle my data?

Your data is protected with network isolation (per-account VPCs), encryption in transit, and access controls. We treat the content on your resources as confidential and do not access it except as needed to operate the service or as required by law. We never sell your personal information. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Does DataDack Cloud comply with GDPR and DPDP?

Yes. We are designed with data protection in mind and support GDPR, India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, and other applicable regulations. You can exercise your data rights — including access, correction, and deletion — through the console or by contacting our support team.

What is prohibited on DataDack Cloud?

Our Acceptable Use Policy prohibits illegal content, malware and botnet hosting, network abuse (spam, DoS/DDoS, unauthorized scanning), attempts to breach platform or tenant isolation, and abusive resource usage. We may suspend or terminate resources that violate the policy or threaten the platform.

Who do I contact for support, billing, or abuse reports?
