This Cookie Policy explains how DataDack uses cookies and similar technologies on the DataDack Cloud website and console. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
1. What Are Cookies?
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device that helps us recognise your browser and remember information about your session. We use cookies on this site and in the console.
2. Similar Technologies
- Web beacons (also called pixel tags or single-pixel GIFs) are small electronic images embedded in web pages and emails. Used together with cookies, they let us compile aggregate statistics about how the site is used and which emails and links have been opened.
- Local storage in your browser is used to hold console preferences that would be impractical to store in a cookie.
3. Why We Use Cookies
- Essential cookies — necessary for the console to function: authentication, session management, account and availability-zone selection, CSRF protection, and load balancing. These cannot be switched off, and disabling them will prevent you from signing in.
- Preference cookies — to remember your settings, such as your active account, region and console layout.
- Analytics cookies — to understand how the console and website are used so we can improve them. We do not link the information stored in analytics cookies to any personally identifiable information you submit on the site.
- Marketing cookies — used only where you have opted in, to measure the effectiveness of our campaigns.
4. Types of Cookies We Use
- Session cookies expire when you close your browser or sign out.
- Persistent cookies remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them.
- First-party cookies are set by DataDack. Third-party cookies are set by providers we use, such as our analytics provider.
5. Your Consent and Choices
On your first visit we present a consent banner. Essential cookies are set on the basis of necessity; analytics and marketing cookies are set only with your separate, affirmative consent for each purpose, consistent with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Consent is never bundled.
You can withdraw or change your consent at any time — as easily as you gave it — through the cookie preferences link in the site footer, or by clearing cookies in your browser. Withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before it.
6. Managing Cookies in Your Browser
Most browsers let you delete existing cookies, block all cookies, or set preferences per site through their settings or "help" file. Note that blocking essential cookies will prevent you from signing in to and using the console.
7. Third-Party Cookies
We use third-party services — including an analytics provider — that set their own cookies. We do not control those cookies, and their use of the data they collect is governed by their own privacy policies, not by this one. Our website and documentation also link to third-party sites whose cookie practices differ from ours.
8. Do Not Track
Browsers vary in how they signal a "Do Not Track" preference and there is no agreed standard for responding to it. We do not currently respond to Do Not Track signals, but we do honour the cookie preferences you set through our consent banner.

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date above.
